New York is always at the center of the arts world, and the spring of 2012 is an especially exhilarating season for the City’s cultural institutions. As the weather warms and the flowers bloom, it’s a terrific time to visit NYC’s gardens—including The New York Botanical Garden—or stroll along the Lower Manhattan waterfront and take a look at the newly reopened South Street Seaport Museum. Visitors can enjoy an exciting lineup of programming, including events like New Directors/New Films at The Film Society of Lincoln Center and DanceBrazil at The Joyce Theater, or explore special exhibitions including Renoir, Impressionism, and Full-Length Painting at The Frick Collection and The Dawn of Egyptian Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (whose roof garden is a popular spring hangout). And that’s only the beginning—for more ideas, read on.
